Yes, I’m one of those cheesy brides who has a wedding day countdown app! I loved seeing that today we are exactly 40 days from becoming husband and wife! On January 4, 2013 I began a 40-day fast and prayed that God would direct my steps in terms of my career and desire to start a family. (My fast was 40 days of all liquids, including veggie soups, smoothies and juice.) God truly worked on my heart in those 40 days and I felt clearer and closer to Him than I had in a long time. I felt at peace and could sense God moving in my life…. Fast forward one year later, and the week I met my love McArthur, he was in the middle of his own fast at the time. (Look at God!) We highly recommended the biblical discipline of fasting along with the book “Fasting” by Jentezen Franklin. For me, fasting helps eliminate distractions during my prayer and Bible study time, and also reminds me that I am totally dependent on Christ and Christ alone! He is my source who makes all things possible! 🙏
I’ve grown so close to this woman as we count down to my wedding in 51 days! My wedding planner Raven is a true gem and her company, @the_envision_firm has been such a blessing! Raven booked all of my amazing vendors in a month and they each have such a beautiful spirit and passion for what they do! (This includes our venue, caterer, baker, hotel, florist, stationer, photographer, videographer and DJ—and all within my budget. She also went with me today to find my dream dress!) I’m so grateful for Raven and all the sweet souls that God has placed in my life recently. This season has filled me with so much joy and peace! God is good. So, so good! #theenvisionfirm
You can do it all, just not today. I’ve been repeating this over and over to myself lately. Our resort in Curaçao only had wifi in the main lobby which meant I couldn’t be attached to my Macbook 24/7 like I have been for the past… well, five years. It’s easy for me to get so busy and overwhelmed with running @MeltonDigital, teaching spin class, planning my wedding, attending church twice a week, and running around, but I wouldn’t be able to do any of those things without God’s grace and strength. When I feel life’s busyness wearing on me, it always helps to grab my Bible and read about God’s power and promises until I forget what I was worried about. These clouds on my flight today were another gentle reminder of God’s goodness. He’s watching over us, so we need to stop all that worrying! You can do it all, just not today.
